Body piercing is not only attention grabbing but it is also a fashion trend that is sweeping our nation. It is primarily due to the changing attitudes of our generation. Corset piercing is contemporary form of body piercing that is really weird.

Body piercing, the practice of puncturing a part of the body to create an opening for jewelry, is not a new trend. Ear piercings and nose piercings have been documented back more than 5,000 years. Facial piercings in the lip and tongue have been found in African and American tribal cultures long before its popularity among young Americans. Even nipple and genital piercings can be documented in literature dating back to Ancient Rome.A more contemporary form of piercing is corset piercing. Although corsetry has a long history, the corset piercing is of contemporary origin, coming into practice with the establishment of the body piercing industry in the late 1990s. Like corsetry, it is associated with erotic behavior and aesthetics, particularly fetish aesthetics. Also paralleling corsets, most wearers of corset piercings are women.
Corset piercings, sometimes called ladder piercings, are a series of surface piercings arranged up the back in two vertical columns. It is a symmetrical piercing with an equal number of holes on each side. As few as four holes can be used (two on each side) up to as many as the expanse of skin will allow. Once these heal, they can be laced with ribbons and pulled taut. Although ribbons or laces are the most popular materials, rope and chain have also been used at times. While this all looks lovely, it is only intended for temporary use. A common variation of the standard back corset piercing is front or side "corset-like" body. These piercings have also been seen lacing up the sides of legs, thighs, arms, wrists and even a throat!
