A study done by Hampshire Hypnotherapy Centre found that hypnotherapy helped psychological treatment in reducing anxiety and feelings of helplessness in students. According to it self hypnosis could be useful in aiding treatment for children suffering from anxiety. That also means you daily problems like stress; irritation and breakup issues can be easily healed by this therapy.

Hypnosis is a natural state of heightened awareness, where you are able to open your mind to beneficial suggestions and can make use of your imagination to help make positive changes in your life. It is said to have solutions for all the problems in human life. Hypnotherapy has gained in popularity with time to get out of problems like overweight, drug addiction, stress, breakups etc. Hypnotherapist Neeta Yuvraj tells us more about this-

People have several misunderstandings regarding the hypnotherapy. Our concern is ‘How effective is this therapy?
This therapy is as effective as your mind would want it to be. Since we see the mind as the invisible body, and disorders in the body originate in the mind, how effective this would be depends on how precisely we are able to get to the cause that the mind has latched on to in sanctioning this disease. If that is accurately done, it is very much possible to reverse the disorder or get the client in a state of peaceful equilibrium.

What are the main diseases/problems which can be healed by hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy helps in resolving, almost all diseases and problems that are arising from the mind. Like addictions, weight loss, allergies, skin diseases, insomnia, stress, thyroid, migraines, as well as emotional issues of depression, fears, phobias, career related issues and relationships.

What is the science behind this therapy?
The science behind this goes back to research done over the last 350 years or so which discovered that humans have a 3rd state of awareness beyond awake and sleep and in this state, which we call as hypnosis in which clients are very influencable to suggestions given and those suggestions continue to affect their behaviour even after they are out of that state.

Why doesn’t a hypnotherapist enjoy the similar status of a doctor in several countries?
The rules for the title Doctor is a country specific issue. For e.g. in the USA, only PhDs can use the term Doctor.

Hypnotism is often, mistakenly, thought to be the same as mesmerism. How do you differentiate the two?
Mesmerism comes from Franz Mesmer who first discovered and studied this science. However, we are different because unlike mesmerism which can be done even if you are not willing, we can only work with willing clients.
