Although Santa Claus is a busy man especially when Christmas is near. But After several attempts Friday was lucky enough to score an interview with the man in red. I asked him few questions about delivering presents the reindeer and his good and bad list. Here’s what he had to say:

1. Is Santa Claus real?  Are you real Santa ?Santa: Santa Claus can be real in your heart.  You have to have the mind of a child when it comes to “Believing” in Santa Claus. I am one of many Santas around the world. There are two kinds of Santas, one uses fake beard and wig, the other has a real beard and long hair which is his own. I am what we call a real bearded Santa. I belong to several Santa groups. We have over 300 Santas just in the State of Texas. We have about 65 Santas in our group called "The Lone Star Santas". There is no official Santa as far as I know of. We all try to be a little like the first Santa.2. And who was the first Santa Claus?

Santa: The first Santa Claus was from Turkey. His name was St. Nicholas and he lived and performed miracles in the town of Demre in southwestern Turkey.3. Is this true that in Turkey it is forbidden to practice christianity ?

Santa: This statement is completely false. Turkey is a laic country where all religions are respected. Turkey has many groups of various religions, and everyone is completely free to perform their own religous rituals. Historically Anatolia is a land where Muslims, Christians and Jews live in harmony - a rare thing in the world - even today, as it was hundreds of years ago.4. Will you go to parlor before christmas night to set up your long beard?Santa: Of course,  I've one specialized and the best-of-the-World Beard-caretaker-elf, who takes a lot of care to maintain my white long beard, just like you take care of your hair.  Shampooing it and using lots of conditioner.5. What is your favorite dish?  Santa: It has to be chocolate chip. It’s sweet, it’s chocolatey, and it’s usually soft and just so good.6.  How many reindeer does Santa Claus have and what are the names of  reindeers?  Santa: It started with 8 but there are now 9 with Rudolph. The reindeer were also named: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Dunder and Blixem (Dunder and Blixem came from the old Dutch words for thunder and lightning, which were later changed to the more German sounding Donner and Blitzen).  7. At christmas night whose stocking does Santa Claus fill first?

Santa: I don’t know, but the very first stockings where those of three girls whose father wanted them to marry but they didn’t have the money and Santa put gold coins in each of their stockings which were drying on the mantle of the fire place.Interview by Anuradha Gupta via E-mail
