For years many countries and regions have been holding their own Refugee Days and even Weeks. Today is 20the June one of the most widespread ‘Africa Refugee Day’. Most of the countries celebrate it as World Refugee’s Day. We are bringing a story from the campus of IIT Delhi where techies have been turned humanitarians for a social cause.

If you think that the student life is only about campus masti and dying grades then you might be wrong at this point. IIT-D students, at one hand are toiling hard to get good grades but at the other hand are fighting for a generous cause of uplifting the downtrodden refugee community. When asked about the idea how it came to their minds Neha says, “As we learned more about the community, we came to understand how each day is a challenge for these refuges. Their continuous struggle to survive in this home away from home, made these students dedicate themselves to this cause”.Project Aarambh, an initiative took by these students, is also making a fresh attempt for the cause of overall development of the Burmese refugees. The project looks to economically empower these people through sustainable income generation.
